Barbara Helen La Marca, 89

Barbara Helen La Marca, a former resident of Heritage Plantation in Pawleys Island, SC passed on January 31, 2024, in the presence of her loving family in Bucks County Pennsylvania.

Barbara was born on October 17, 1934, in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y. to Walter and Helen Alexander.  A few years after graduating from New Dorp High School in Staten Island, N.Y. Barbara married the love of her life and lifelong partner Anthony “Bud” La Marca.

Barbara was the proud mother of four sons, grandmother of eight and great grandmother of eight (3 more on the way!).  Her joy in life was the time she spent with her family and friends.

Throughout her life, Barbara was active in community theater, starring in many plays over the years to the delight of her family and the community. In addition to her love of family, Barbara was a great dancer and was always the first person on the dance floor.

Barbara is survived by her sons Kevin (Sabine), Robert (Jill), Anthony, and Darren (Alicia); grandchildren Christopher (Emily), Michael (Jessica), Nicole (Josh), Andrew (Melissa), Stephen (Nora), Brian (Jessica), Melissa (Nick), Michelle; and great grandchildren Dominic, Leo, Jack, Kate, Tommy, Cameron, William and Henry.

She was predeceased by her husband Bud, mother Helen and father Walter, brothers Walter and William, and great grandson Joseph.

Memorial services will be held for immediate family at a future date at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum, East Hanover NJ.  The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
