William “Bill” John Atkinson passed away on December 15, 2025. A stonemason by trade, Bill was a man of few words, but his actions spoke louder than words ever could, reflecting a life built on strength, kindness, and integrity.
Bill believed deeply in helping others, often reminding those around him that you never know when you may need help yourself. His door was always open, and his heart even more so. Known as a protector, he touched countless lives with his quiet strength and generosity.
He found joy and peace in fishing, especially deep-sea trips for tuna, which were among his favorite moments.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth (née Dawley) Atkinson, and his older brother, Jim Atkinson.
Bill is survived by his sons Grant Atkinson (Shelly) and Billy Atkinson. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Dennis, Delaney, and Harley.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Bill is survived by his significant other, Cindy Nitka, as well as his two brothers and five sisters: Robert Atkinson (Andrea), Dennis Atkinson, Anna Krotee (Richard), Ruth Lagana (Sam), Kathleen Hinchliffe (Tim Creighton), Diane Henry (Tyler), and Karen Baumann (Robert). He will also be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 29, at 1:00 PM at Guisseppie’s Pizza in Warminster. Friends and family are welcome to join for a luncheon in honor of Bill’s life.
William will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering belief in helping others whenever he could. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
