Ruth Ann Jaskelewicz, born on August 31, 1941, entered eternal rest on February 24, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, whose life was characterized by her unwavering care for her family and the joy she brought into their lives.
Ruth's journey of love began when she married her husband, Anthony Jaskelewicz. Their union was marked by 63 years of marriage, during which they complemented each other's traits and shared countless memories. Known affectionately as "Ruthie," she dedicated herself fully to her role as the caregiver of her family, providing love and support to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Ruth was a woman of many talents, especially noted for her skill in crafting beautiful crocheted Angel blankets that were cherished by all who received them. She had a meticulous list, ensuring that she fulfilled the requests of her family and friends as best as she could. Moreover, her talent extended to creating personalized cross-stitch items and blankets, each a lasting memory of her creative spirit and love.
Every weekend, Ruth packed up to join Anthony in their favorite places, whether it was in the mountains, at the Jersey shore, or in Florida. Her spirit shone bright during these family adventures, particularly as she embraced her title as the "Queen of crabbing," catching and preparing delicious meals from her catches.
In her final years, Ruth cherished the opportunity to reminisce about her life and her enduring love for family. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love and saying many heartfelt "I love you's." Her legacy continues through her family, who will forever remember the warmth and devotion she shared with them.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Anthony Jaskelewicz (who passed away on January 28, 2026), her daughter Andrea and her husband John Kelly, their children Jacquelyn, Brett, Brendan, and Bryan. She also leaves behind her son Glen and his wife Tracy Jaskelewicz, along with their children Kyle, Evan, and Tyler. Her grandson Michael and his wife Susan Jaskelewicz, and her great-grandchildren Kendall, Elena, Carson, and Owen.
Ruth was preceded in death by her son Michael F. Jaskelewicz, as well as her parents, Percy and Anna May Courtney. She is also remembered by her late sister Thelma Minauro and brother-in-law John Minauro, and her late sister Florence Austin and brother-in-law Edward Austin.
Ruth Ann Jaskelewicz will be deeply missed, but her loving spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
