Robert D. Struthers, a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Doylestown, Pa. Born on September 3, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Bob embraced life with warmth, humor, and an unwavering kindness that touched everyone around him.
Bob’s professional journey was marked by dedication and achievement. After earning his foundation in Electrical Engineering, he embarked on a remarkable 35-year career in Sales and Marketing leadership within the Photonics Industry. His expertise and vision propelled him to executive roles at several dynamic companies, including Sensors Unlimited, EG&G, and PD-LD. Bob applied his technical knowledge to advance specialties in spectroscopic and imaging applications, leaving a legacy of innovation and leadership that inspired colleagues and peers alike.
Beyond his impressive career, Bob was a man known for his great sense of humor and compassionate heart. He consistently put others before himself, embodying kindness in every interaction. His devotion to family was evident not only in words but in cherished traditions and moments of love. Bob found joy in organizing joyful cookouts, creating memories and strengthening bonds in simple, meaningful ways.
Bob’s love extended beyond his immediate family to the beauty of nature. Alongside his wife, Julie, he treasured their time in Sedona, Arizona, where they hiked the breathtaking trails, savored fine wines, and marveled at the stunning red rock formations. Cape May, New Jersey, was another sanctuary where Bob found peace and rejuvenation amid coastal charm.
He is survived by his beloved wife Julie Struthers of 27 years and his sons, Kyle Robert (Lyndsey) and Michael Struthers. Also sharing in his memory are his step-son, Douglas Driesbach, and his devoted siblings Kathleen Martin, Cynthia Struthers (Steve), and Shari Nussdorfer (James). Bob’s spirit lives on through his nieces and nephews: Cynthia, Robert, and Daniel Martin; Jeremy and Mary Smith; Forest, Ethan, and Claire Nussdorfer; and Emily, Kate, and Sam Birsa, all of whom carry forward his loving legacy.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert and Clarice Struthers, his sister Nancy Struthers, and brothers-in-law Stan Martin and Chuck Stanley. Their memories remain etched deeply in the hearts of those who knew him.
Robert D. Struthers’ life was a testament to the profound impact one person can have by blending professional excellence with genuine humanity. As we remember Bob, we hold close the laughter he sparked, the love he gave, and the lasting imprint he made on family, friends, and the many whose lives he enriched. His journey on this earth has ended, but the warmth of his spirit will forever light the paths of those who loved him.
