Robert “Bob” Steven Factor, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2026. Born on February 23, 1945, Bob grew up in Philadelphia with his parents, Bernice (Giltman) and Joseph Factor, his brother Herb, and his beloved dog Corky. He later made his home in Newtown, Pennsylvania.

Bob was a proud graduate of Bartram High School and Rider College, where he studied history. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with B Battery, 4th Battalion, 42nd Artillery, 4th Infantry Division (USARV), and remained proud of his military service.

After returning from Vietnam, Bob taught history at Fisher Middle School in Ewing, New Jersey, before beginning a long career as an auditor with the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

Bob was active and energetic throughout much of his life. He loved running and fitness, competed in several marathons, and later found peace running along the Delaware Canal Path and spending time in nearby parks. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed talking sports with just about anyone, and he wore his beloved Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Championship t-shirt proudly.

Easygoing and friendly, Bob genuinely enjoyed people. He cherished family traditions and longtime friendships. Bob also loved the theater and attended Broadway shows several times a year. When he was no longer able to go himself, he generously bought tickets for family members so they could experience what he loved. A devoted cat dad to Chipper and his other cats, he also volunteered his time supporting local cat shelters. For decades, Bob spent two mornings each week enjoying breakfast at Moish & Itzy’s, where he was a familiar face and formed meaningful friendships with fellow customers and staff.

Bob will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, loyalty, and wonderful sense of humor.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Herb Factor. He will be deeply missed by his niece Gayle (Factor) Simonetti and her husband John, their sons Jake and Jared; and by the Schoenleber and Stuhlmuller families, who loved him as their own for more than 50 years. Bob is also fondly remembered by his cousins and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob's Committal Service at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown PA 18940, on Friday, January 30th, 2026 at 10:30am. Guests are asked to arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled service time.
