Robert (Bob) Mann, 83 of Ottsville, PA passed away October 31, 2025, with his partner of 20 years, Ann Gardner at his side. Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 16, 1942 and grew up with his parents, Alfred and Rose Mann and sister Janet Mone in Feasterville, PA.
Bob was as proud Army veteran serving in Korea and honorably discharged in 1965. He then moved to Durham, PA to raise his family and establish his company, R A Mann Construction. Bob was also a field inspector for Pennoni Associates and CKS Engineers.
Bob was a hardworking, fun loving, outdoorsman. He was a creature of habit and spent the majority of his time in one of three places, his shop in Ottsville where he earned the nickname McGuyver because of his mechanical genius to build something out of nothing and find a way to fix the unfixable. His hands were typically covered in grease and he was proud of it. He also spent a great deal of his time in Tuckerton, NJ and he wintered in Crystal River, FL. Regardless of his location, rest assured he was definitely fishing and crabbing – his ultimate passions. He was a staunch republican, an avid Eagles fan and loved to tinker with whatever he could get his hand on. He loved good food and a cold Miller.
Bob was also very honored to receive an Outstanding Citizenship Award for his heroic actions during a shooting on August 28, 1995 at Labate Aviation in Revere, PA.
He is survived by his partner Ann of Tuckerton, NJ who he chose to be his lifelong confidante, traveling companion, personal chef, and devoted best friend. He is also survived by his children Scott Angstadt (Rebekah), Renee Danielle, Kurtis Mann, Jennifer Mann (Scott) and Amber Mann and grandchildren; Chelsea, Breyden, Johanna, and Brier. In addition, Anne’s daughters; Jeanne and Cindy, his sister Janet, his niece and nephew Laura and Chris.
He encountered so many in his life and undoubtedly left a lasting impression on them all. Bob will be greatly missed but his love for fishing and the memories made on the water will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to local conservation organizations that support fishing and outdoor education.
