Richard Charles Latchford March 28, 1945 — April 3, 2026
Richard “Rich” Charles Latchford, 81, of Chalfont, PA, passed away on April 3, 2026, surrounded by family and close friends who had been at his side.
Born in Philadelphia on March 28, 1945, He graduated from Bartrum High School and went on to attend Temple University. Rich was the loving husband of Marjorie Frances (Fran) Scilovati for 57 years.
Rich was a long-time resident of Bucks County, PA. Rich was self-employed for most of his life and owned and operated several restaurants over the years in the Doylestown area. He will be remembered by many as the “Little Debbie” driver who frequented the local area stores bringing jokes to everyone he met. He took pride in his work, his independence, and the many people he employed and served.
Rich was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan and was actively involved in the community, especially in Warminster, PA where he raised his family. He was an avid soccer fan and a devoted supporter of his grandchildren’s athletic pursuits. He loved nothing more than watching them play or swim—whether in youth leagues, high school matches, or college games—and celebrated each milestone with enthusiasm and pride. Rich treasured the deep friendships he cultivated throughout his life. He was the life of any party, known for his quick wit and warm sense of humor, qualities his friends will miss dearly.
Together Rich and Fran raised three children: Chris (Heather), Tracy (Glen Jaskelewicz), and Kevin. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren—Lauren, Owen, Kyle, Cian, Ryan, Evan, Tyler, and Mason—who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his brother, Eugene (Nancy deceased). Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Dorothy Latchford.
The family appreciates the support of all who offered care and companionship during his illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Rich’s memory.
