Nicholas Ellsworth, affectionately known as Nick, passed away on November 22, 2025, in Buckingham, Pennsylvania. Born on June 26, 1962, in Flemington, New Jersey, Nick was a dedicated Master Carpenter specialized in historic restorations and renovations, particularly fine cabinetry. His craftsmanship was highly sought after, and he approached each project with an expert attention to detail that spoke volumes of his talent and dedication to his craft.
A graduate of South Hunterdon Regional High School, Nick developed an artistic passion for music and drawing, as well as his talents for woodworking and carpentry. He began his musical journey with Bongos, expanding to Congo drums and Djembe drums and other percussive instruments, cultivating a true love for percussion that blossomed into a noteworthy collection of instruments. Nick traveled to Africa to deepen his understanding of drum making, taking pride in crafting his own bongo, congo drums and djembes. He found joy in playing music with friends and even strangers. He enjoyed people being brought together through rhythm and sound.
Growing up in Lambertville, New Jersey, Nick developed a profound appreciation for nature, particularly the Delaware River. He enjoyed creek walking and hiking along the Delaware River Valley, often seeking out the most secluded spots along the river and its feeder creeks. His adventurous spirit led him to climb rocky hillsides, discovering caves along the cliffs, seeking out waterfalls along the creeks, and finding peace in the woods. Nick enjoyed riding his bicycle around Lambertville, and he loved his dearly departed dog Albert.
Nick will be remembered for his laughter and warm personality. He cherished the time spent playing music; in drumming circles with friends, participating in open mic opportunities, and playing with bands. As a musician his joy came from his love for drumming, music and the connections it fostered.
Nick leaves behind his beloved daughter, Lydia Ellsworth. He is also survived by the cherished memory of his mother, Carole Sue King, father, John Ellsworth, sister, Winifred Ellsworth, and brother, Jacob Ellsworth, all of whom preceded him in death.
Nick's legacy will live on through the craftsmanship he left behind and the memories shared with those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His passion for drumming, music, and nature will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Memorial gather or services will be announced at a later date.
