It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Patrick Bogut, who died unexpectedly of a heart attack on June 28, 2025, while riding his bike in Pennsylvania. He was 62 years old.
Born on February 25, 1963, Michael was the son of William J. Bogut and Patricia A. (LeGrand) Bogut. He grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and was a graduate of Cherry Hill High School East. Michael furthered his education at Villanova University, where he earned his bachelor's degree.
Michael dedicated his career to educating young minds as an elementary school teacher at the Dr. William Mennies School in Vineland, New Jersey, where his students loved having him as their teacher. He moved to Haddon Heights, New Jersey, in 2008, where he owned his home.
In his free time, Michael was an avid outdoorsman. He found great joy in bike riding, often hitting the trails with the Outdoor Club of NJ Biking Club, and he also enjoyed hiking. The beach held a special place in his heart, particularly Strathmere Beach and the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey. An avid sports enthusiast, Michael enjoyed watching everything from college volleyball and the Tour de France to the World Series and lacrosse. He also deeply loved his cats who are missing his lap.
Michael was a kind soul, known for his sense of humor and his love of socializing, despite being a private person. He deeply loved his nieces, Tara and Kate, and was a constant source of support for all their endeavors.
Michael is survived by his siblings, Karen Bogut, Craig Bogut, and Michele Kelling, and his cherished nieces, Tara and Kate Bogut.
