Mark Richard Landis, born October 1, 1964, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully on January 5, 2026, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.
A devoted husband, father, and brother, Mark lived a life defined by resilience, warmth, and an unwaveringly positive spirit. He was the kind of person who left people feeling seen, encouraged, and uplifted—often with a smile or a well‑timed joke.
Mark was a successful construction company owner, known for his strong work ethic and determination. At the age of 29, a life‑altering accident left him disabled and changed the course of his future. Despite the daily challenges and pain he endured, Mark never allowed hardship to dim his light. His cheerful outlook and genuine kindness became his hallmark. He had a rare gift for connecting with others, always interested in their stories and making every interaction feel meaningful.
Mark was a loving and devoted father to his children, Megan Swank (Dave), Christina McElvaney (Ryan), Mark Richard Landis Jr., and Lizzie Landis (Ben), and a deeply cherished partner to his wife, Allison Landis. He embraced fatherhood with patience, encouragement, and unconditional love, leaving behind a legacy that will live on through his children and the values he instilled in them.
Mark was preceded in death by his loving parents Rita and Robert. He is also survived by his twin brothers, Joe (Amy) and Bill (Christy) Landis and their families. Their lives were deeply connected throughout childhood, shaped by shared experiences, family traditions, and the unique bond that comes from growing up side by side.
A passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan, Mark loved the camaraderie and joy that sports brought into his life. He especially treasured his time coaching soccer, where his enthusiasm and positivity inspired countless young athletes. Mark also found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life—particularly family trips to the beach, where laughter, sunshine, and togetherness created memories his family will always hold close.
Though Mark’s life was marked by profound challenges, he met them with courage, humor, and grace. He had an extraordinary ability to find light in even the darkest moments and encouraged those around him to do the same.
Mark Richard Landis leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, those who knew him are deeply grateful for the time they shared with him and the joy he brought into their lives.
As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life lived with courage, compassion, and heart. Mark will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
