Leon John Kumpka, 80, of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Born on March 15, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John and Bernise (Wysocka) Kumpka.

Leon is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Wutzer) Kumpka; his three daughters, Stacey Troy (John), Joan Gausch (Kevin), and Tricia Greer (Nate); and his nine grandchildren: Corinne and Jordyn Troy; Taylor, Mackenzie, and Riley Gausch; and Sam, Jacob, Leah, and Anna Greer.

He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine (Kumpka) Agen (Barry); his nieces, Ivy Agen, Elizabeth Agen, and Rachel Piomelli; and his nephew, Jim Walls, Jr.

Leon proudly served as a Sergeant in the New Jersey National Guard for six years.

He earned an Associate Degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree from La Salle University. He spent his career with Verizon, where he held a management position until his retirement.

Leon will be remembered by his family and friends for his strong will, his service to his country, his love of dogs, and for being a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
