A Celebration of Joseph Daniel DeZutel
April 12, 1973 – February 18, 2026
On February 18, 2026, Joseph Daniel DeZutel walked into the arms of the Lord, leaving behind a legacy defined by faith, laughter, and an extraordinary kindness that touched everyone he met.
Joe had a rare gift for making everyone feel like someone. We are all better people for having known him. He moved through life with a gentle spirit and a quick wit, always ready to share a laugh or a thoughtful word.
Nothing fueled Joe’s soul more than his three children: Ryan, Michael, and Kelley. They were his greatest joys and his proudest achievements. Whether he was coaching them or cheering loudly from the sidelines, Joe saw himself as their biggest fan. His face would radiate pure pride at the mention of their names, celebrating every milestone—big or small.
His Sundays were for church followed by football with Ryan and Michael, the best part of his week.
A proud alumnus of Rutgers University (Newark campus, as he always happily specified), Joe was a member of the D1 volleyball team. He carried the camaraderie of his teammates in his heart, often erupting into laughter while recounting the many memories they made. That passion eventually took him across the globe, playing professionally in Hawaii and Australia—adventures he looked back on as some of life’s most teachable moments.
Joe was the beloved son of Edrie Shenuski, brother to Tracy Linton. He now joins Tony Shenuski in eternal peace.
We invite you to honor Joe’s life and the love he shared on what would have been his 53rd birthday. We will gather to share stories, find comfort in faith, and remember the man who made the world a kinder place.
