Eugene L. Whytosek

Eugene L. Whytosek, affectionately known as Geno, was born on July 4, 1942, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully at his home in Ivyland, Pennsylvania, on November 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Eugene is remembered for his remarkable dedication to both his family and career, exemplifying a life characterized by hard work and selflessness.

For over 30 years, Geno balanced the demanding roles of a postal worker for the United States Postal Service and a lineman for the Budd Company in Philadelphia. In his free time, what little he had he owned and operated Geno's Landscaping later in life well into his 80's. His tremendous work ethic and commitment to providing for his family were evident in every aspect of his life. He always made it a priority to ensure that his family had everything they ever needed, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to their well-being.

In his younger years, Eugene briefly enrolled at Wilkes College, where he played football, a reflection of his active nature and love for sports. As a member of the National Guard reserves, he also served his country with pride. Eugene's outdoor spirit was undeniable; he loved working on the land and spent countless hours enjoying nature, no matter the weather conditions.

Known as a gentle giant, Eugene had a warm and welcoming presence that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His great sense of humor and readiness to lend a helping hand positioned him as a pillar of support within his community and family. Eugene often shared his philosophy that "family sticks together," and he took great pride in the close bond he shared with his loved ones. As he approached the later years of his life, he found comfort knowing that his daughter, Jennifer, son, Eugene Jr., and son-in-law, Jeff Bowyer, remained by his side, exemplifying the family ties he cherished so deeply.

Geno was especially proud of his children and granddaughter, Jade Bowyer, and he consistently sought to be an integral part of their lives. His legacy is one of devotion, compassion, and a commitment to nurturing the dreams of those he loved. Eugene L. Whytosek will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the love and kindness he showed throughout his life. He leaves behind a family who will carry forward his spirit and values, ensuring he remains a cherished part of their lives and memories.
