With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Eric Robert Powell, on October 27, 2026, at the age of 29.

Eric was born on December 27, 1997. He couldn’t speak, but that didn't stop people from getting to know him. Family, friends, neighbors, teachers, caregivers, and nurses learned to understand him through his smile, facial expressions, and the happy sounds he made. Eric had a cheerful personality and an easygoing nature that made him a pleasure to be around. He touched the lives of many people and was loved by everyone who knew him.

Eric attended school through the Central Bucks School District and the Bucks County Intermediate Unit and graduated in 2019.

He loved taking walks in his wheelchair through the neighborhood and local parks. Over the years, many neighbors got to know Eric and looked forward to seeing his familiar smile. Another one of Eric's favorite activities was attending Variety Club Summer Camp, where he enjoyed new experiences and spending time with others.

Those who knew Eric best learned to understand him through his expressions and happy sounds. The overnight nurses who cared for him looked forward to spending time with him and were always happy to see him. Eric was equally happy to see them when they arrived each evening. His gentle nature and cheerful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

In his younger years, Eric enjoyed traveling with his family and visiting relatives throughout the country, including California, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Virginia. As travel became more difficult, one family tradition continued. Every Thanksgiving, Eric looked forward to the trip to Virginia to spend time with Aunt Ann and her family. Those visits brought him great happiness and created many cherished family memories.

Above all, Eric was deeply loved by his family. Years of care, devotion, and shared experiences created memories that will be treasured forever. No words can fully express the loss we feel or the love that surrounded Eric throughout his life.

Eric and his sister, Andrea, shared a simple, natural closeness. Even without words, she understood his expressions and sounds in the way only a sister could. Their time together was easy and familiar, and those memories will stay with her always.

Eric is survived by his parents, Kari Powell and Bob Powell, and his sister, Andrea Powell.

Though Eric's life was far too short, he brought happiness to many people and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial will be held November 7, 2026, at American Legion Post, 315 North State Street, Doylestown, PA. From 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
