Ambler PA

Elizabeth A. Gabrick, affectionately known as Bettie, was born on October 20, 1942, in Ambler, PA, and passed away peacefully in her hometown on June 11, 2025. Bettie’s journey through life was filled with love and cherished moments, not only for herself but for all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A proud graduate of Upper Dublin High School in 1960, Bettie dedicated much of her career to working as a bookkeeper. Her strong affinity for numbers kept her mind sharp, and she continued to serve in this capacity until shortly before her retirement at the age of 65. Most notably, she held the position of bookkeeper at A Taste of Philly Pretzel Bakery, where her meticulous nature and warm presence left a lasting impression.

Bettie had a profound love for the outdoors, especially enjoying bird watching and tending to her mother’s flower garden. Memories of her childhood in Ambler were especially dear to her heart, including the adventurous playtimes with her brothers, Billy and Chickie. They often spent their summers swimming in the nearby creek and delighting in spirited escapades across the street at Rosehill Cemetery, where they would fondly recall scaring visitors coming to pay their respects.

Bettie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles P. Gabrick who passed away in 1999. Following his death, she chose to return to Ambler, settling back in her cherished family home, where she spent the remainder of her days surrounded by memories and the love of her family.

She is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth (Annie) Worthington, John Thompson (Janet), Robert Thompson and JC Thompson (Annette). Her grandchildren, including Stephen Worthington (Danielle), Ryan Worthington  (Alyssa), JT Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Connor Thompson, and Amanda Thompson Maresca (Geno). Bettie's heart will also live on in the laughter of her great-grandchildren, Lillyana, Kelsey, Lorelei, Juliette Ryan Junior, and Mirabelle Worthington.

Bettie was the cherished daughter of Bill and Betty Erhardt and she served as the last surviving member of the second generation of Erhardt’s. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and vibrant memories that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Bettie's services and interment will be held privately at her request with her family.
