Christine Panfile of Linwood, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, after a nine-year battle with breast cancer, which she faced with dignity, grace, and remarkable strength. Born on April 21, 1952, in Chester, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of the late Peter F. Kurek, Sr. and Josephine M. Kurek. She attended St. Hedwig’s Elementary School and was a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School.
Christine retired due to health reasons after 49 years with State Farm Insurance Company, where she built lasting friendships and was deeply valued by colleagues. She also co-owned and operated John Francis Hair Design with her late husband, John F. Panfile, and continued its operation on her own following his passing in 2013.
Christine was the devoted wife of 36 years to her husband, and the loving mother of Alexander G. Panfile, who passed away in 2020. She was a cherished sister to the late Peter F. Kurek Jr., and his wife, Lynda, and to the late Dennis J. Kurek and his wife, Maryann. She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their partners, including Dennis J. Kurek, Jr. and his wife, Sara; her godson, Brian Kurek and his wife, Carmela; Elisabeth Kurek and her husband Sören Pippart; Peter F. Kurek III; Thomas Kurek and his wife, MacKenzie; David McCartney, and 7 nieces and nephews in the Panfile family. She doted on them and her 25 grandnieces and grandnephews. She is also survived by her godmother, Dorothy Stetyick; her dear friend Jane S. Bush, who was like a second mother to her; her cousins Pam Marchlik and Mary Ann Smith, whom she considered her sisters, along with Mary Ann's husband, Donald Smith; as well as many other cousins, lifelong friends including Darlene Korab and Rene Ottaviani, members of the Panfile family, former coworkers from State Farm, and clients from John Francis Hair Design. Christine was a treasured godmother to Brian Kurek, Joe Marchlik, David Marchlik, Michael Marchlik, Jessica Marks, Tia Murphy, and Colleen Gallagher. Christine cared for everyone in her universe with tenderness and compassion. Her devotion to her mother, her husband, her son, her second mother, and the nephews she embraced after they lost their parents stands as a shining example of goodness and faith.
Christine will be remembered for her devotion to family, her enduring friendships, her strength in adversity, and the kindness she extended to so many throughout her life. A celebration of Christine’s life will be held on June 8, 2026 at St. John Fisher Church located at 4225 Chichester Ave, Boothwyn, PA 19061. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment for Christine and her son Alexander will follow immediately after the Mass at Lawn Croft Cemetery located at 1000 W Ridge Rd, Linwood, PA 19061. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather afterward and share memories at the Ballroom at Boothwyn, 1405 Meetinghouse Road, Boothwyn, PA 19061.
