CHARLES P. MEVES
Charles P. Meves passed away peacefully on Saturday April 11, 2026. Affectionately known as Charlie, he leaves a legacy of quiet strength, kindness and enduring love. He was born on November 14, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Frederick and Margaret Meves.
Charlie grew up on “C” Street in Philadelphia and graduated from Olney High School. It was there that he met his future wife, Margaret Connell, and they were married on October 13, 1956, spending nearly 70 years together. They had two sons, Scott and Rob, and eventually settled in Horsham, PA.
Charlie served his country in the U.S. Signal Corps and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean War. He often shared, with a sense of unstated pride, that he climbed Mt. Fuji during his time there-an accomplishment that remained as one of his many treasured memories. After his military service and while raising a family, Charlie attended Drexel University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He joined SKF Industries, where he enjoyed a successful 40+ year career and was well-regarded by both his colleagues and the customers he served.
Outside of work he a passionate gardener, tending to the largest vegetable garden in the neighborhood and also growing beautiful roses. He and Marge enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing pinochle with friends and their bowling league. He coached his sons in Little League Baseball and was an active member of Supplee Presbyterian Church.
Upon retirement, Charlie and Marge moved to Henderson, NV where they spent 20 active years. They enjoyed travel-cruising in particular- and had the opportunity to explore many destinations throughout the world. Charlie was a member of the woodworking club, served as president of the ballroom dancing group and played bocce 2-3 times per week, teaming up with Marge to win the club championship on more than one occasion. They relocated back to Ann’s Choice in Warminster, PA three years ago.
Known for his kind and generous heart, Charlie was a man of quiet presence. He spoke thoughtfully and, though he was not a man of many words, his warmth, sincerity and gentle spirit were felt by all who knew him. Charlie will be remembered with deep love and gratitude for the life he lived and the care he showed to others. His memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who knew him, much like the roses he so caringly nurtured.
Charlie is survived by his wife Marge, sons Scott (Maryann) and Rob (Connie), grandchildren Matthew, Tyler, Alexandra, Zachary and Jacob, and great-grandchildren George, Theodore, Harry, Scotland, Josephine, Jack, Lyla, Conor and Kellen. He is also survived by his brother David Meves and was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret Reuning.
Relatives and Friends will be received from 10:30 am until Services begin at 11:30 am on Friday, April 17, 2026 in the Chapel at Ann’s Choice Retirement Community, 30000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Ann’s Choice Benevolent Care Fund.
