Bruce William Bowditch passed on August 24, 2025 at the age of 82 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on November 6, 1942 in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia. He was the proud son of Martha and Wilson Bowditch. Bruce attended Northeast High School and completed one year of college at Penn State. He developed a love of cars and racing. He spent many nights and weekends working on race cars with his best friend, Jules Schonberger. Bruce was also lucky enough to share that interest with his son-in-law, Chuck Frohlich. Bruce had several jobs throughout his life including sales and parcel delivery.
In May of 1973, Bruce married his beloved Reeze, Marie Conallen. They purchased a home on Longshore Avenue in Oxford Circle where many wonderful memories were made. It was there that Bruce met wonderful neighbors who developed into family. While on Longshore Avenue, Bruce and Marie had three children; Heather, Christy, and Brian. Bruce also had a loving sister in law and brother in law; Margaret Mary and Ronald Vallone and eleven nieces and nephews; Donna, Tommy, Ronny, Jimmy, Susan, Denise, Michael, Jackie, Nicole, Katie, and Shannon.
In the fall of 1999, Bruce and Marie purchased a home in Warminster, PA where he lived up until his final days. They had 2 grandchildren, Cailey and Cara, who brought him much love and joy. He also had several dogs including his favorite, Finnegan.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Martha (Klemmer) Bowditch and his father Wilson Bowditch. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marie (Conallen) Bowditch, his three children, Heather Bowditch, Christy (Frohlich) Bowditch, and Brian Bowditch, 2 son-in-laws, Chuck Frohlich and Sam Altaher, his grandchildren Cailey Frohlich and Cara Frohlich, and his dog Finnegan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bruce's graveside service on Friday August 29, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 County Line Rd, Lower Southampton Twp., PA 19006. Guests will be received by the family at the graveside from 10:30 to 11:00 am, committal service will begin at 11:00 am.
