He was hired by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission during his senior year of high school in their print shop and eventually rose to the position of Comptroller. He retired at the age of 52 after 34 years of service.

His career with the Bridge Commission was interrupted in 1966 when he was drafted by the US Army. After 2 years of service under Presidents Johnson and Nixon, making numerous foreign and domestic trips with the Presidential support team, he was honorably discharged in 1969.

Brian was proud of his involvement with the Middletown Township soccer program during its formative years in the early 1970s. He served as Treasurer and In House Soccer Director. He also coached In House Co-ed, Boys Travel and Girls Travel teams.

Brian's joy was his love of his family, vacations to many locations, most of which were tropical all over the Caribbean and Hawaii, but he also loved his very special trips to London and Italy with the love of his life Judy.

He was the one of the late Eleanor T. Burns and George P. Bishop, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Judith (MacGann) Bishop. He was also preceded in death by his sister Kathleen (Bishop) McCaffery and her husband Dan McCaffrey.
