Benjamin Bernard Jarnutowski III, lovingly known as “The Jarnut”, passed away suddenly on December 14th – surrounded by his family. Born on April 24, 1977, in Levittown, PA, Benny was a graduate of Harry S. Truman High School and Bucks County Vo-Tech in Levittown, PA, class of 1995. He passed away at the age of 48 leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory forward with enduring affection.
Benny lived in Upper Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where his presence was known not by perfection, but by passion. He was a deeply talented musician, expressing his heart through drums and guitar, and finding joy in the rhythm and release that music gave him. Whether playing, listening, or simply feeling the beat, music was one of the many ways Benny connected to the world.
Above all, Benny was a father who loved sacrificially and longed deeply for his children. His love for them was constant and undeniable, woven into who he was at his core. He also cherished time with his family, finding meaning in shared moments, laughter, and togetherness.
Benny was a lovingly complicated and stubborn man, and those who knew him understood that these qualities existed alongside a big heart and fierce loyalty. Being the only son, he was loved without reservation. His life reminds us that complexity does not diminish worth, and that love endures through every season. He loved to fish, play golf with his dad, and paintball with friends. He was the drummer for “Circle 13”, and “Unscarred Pantera” and was a devoted Philadelphia Flyers fan, rarely missing a game. These simple joys brought him excitement and connection, and they remain fond memories for those who shared them with him.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Joan Jarnutowski; his father, Benjamin Bernard Jarnutowski, Jr.; his sister, Katie, and her daughter Abigail; and his beloved children, Joel, Amber, and Benjamin IV, and grandson Braxton. He is also survived by his beloved family Heather Quinn and her children Damian, Kenny & Kaiden. He is reunited in rest with his mother, Gayle Jarnutowski, whose love helped shape him.
Though his life contained challenges, today we choose to remember the love he gave, the music he made, and the family he cherished. May his memory be a source of healing, strength, and renewed closeness for all who loved him.
His celebration of life will be held in the Spring, weather permitting, in the Enchanted Forest where our annual BenFest is held. In the event of inclement weather, it will be held at our neighbors – Jim & Lisa Grasse.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made in his name to the Appalachian Fiddle & Bluegrass Association Youth Scholarship:
