It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Don F. Waryga, 74, of Warminster, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023 at VITAS Hospice Unit at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Don was born on September 21, 1949 to the late Francis and Margaret Waryga of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Lower Moreland High School in 1967 he went on to Penn State University where he joined the ROTC and graduated in 1971. He then was assigned to an army base in New Jersey and finished his remaining years of service at Stewart Field, a sub-post of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. It was there that he met his beloved wife Ruthie, and they married at the Post Chapel at West Point on October 9, 1976.
Don was survived by his wife Ruth Waryga, and their three children Kristin Godshall (Matt), Jason Waryga (Veronica), and Bryan Waryga; four Grandchildren Luke & Noah Godshall and Lacey & Wade Waryga; and four siblings Ken Waryga, Alan Waryga, Betty Ann Lepone, and David Waryga.
He was a loving husband, father, and papa. Don was also a long time member of Davisville Church where he attended for many years. He loved spending time in his garden, birdwatching, and taking care of his fish. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his service on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Davisville Church at 325 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966. Calling time will be from 9:00-10:00am with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 10:00am. A military service will be held promptly at 1:00pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery located at 830 Highland Road, Newtown PA 18940. Please assemble in the parking line at the cemetery by 12:30pm, services will begin promptly at 1:00pm.
